How to make mopping process a little easy

Maintaining a clean home is an art. For some, it is a routine and for some others, they need some motivation to make it happen. I am using Instagram as my motivation. It is the best decision I made to post my cleaning process there. It helps me to keep up with my daily cleaning chores.

This is the mop I use.

We have hardwood floor in our home and it has to be mopped from time to time to keep it clean. But daily mopping may ruin the surface. So I mop it weekly once. I have been sticking to a schedule for doing it.

Here are some tips to make the mopping process a little easy

  • Remove everything from the floor like mats, chairs, toys, etc.
  • Vacuum or sweep the floor
  • Keep a bucket filled with water to rinse the mop now and then.
  • Use a mop that you are comfortable with.

Bonus tips for mopping

  • Keep the bucket behind you while mopping to avoid spilling on a cleaned surface and for easy access.
  • Add a few drops of dish soap to the water.
  • I use a wringer mop and bucket system and I don’t have to touch the soapy and dirty water.
  • Spot clean any spills immediately. This will make your weekly mopping easy.
  • Pre-wet the dried spills in the kitchen and dining area by spraying some water + dish soap. It helps to mop them off the floor easily.
Wringer mop and bucket system

I do not like touching the water every time I have to rinse the mop. Also if my son asks for something or if he wakes up from his nap when am mopping I have to wash my hands thoroughly before I can attend to his needs. After I started using a wringer mop ( Amazon affiliate link ) it has become more comfortable for me to get the job done.

Which tip did you find useful? Do you like mopping?
