Are you a leader or a follower? – my response to the daily writing prompt

Daily writing prompt
Are you a leader or a follower?

I would like to believe that I am both. It certainly depends on the situation and the people I am with.

When the situation requires something that I have good knowledge about, I can be a leader at that moment. But there may be other instances I need guidance from others where I may have to follow.

Coffee

I have been a tea person my whole life and I still am. But I must say I am in love with coffee too these days. I do not drink a full cup of coffee or make my own coffee. But a few sips from my husband’s coffee cup when he makes his own is the tastiest coffee ever😁

I am not sure if it’s the coffee powder or the coffeemaker or the coffee creamer or the way he makes it. But the coffee is very tasty and interesting.

Maybe it is the hazelnut flavor making me drink more coffee!

Hakka noodles with a hint of peanut- vegetarian recipe

I prepared this a few times and I believe it’s safe to say this is yummy and did not hurt my tummy πŸ˜€ So go ahead and give it a try if you like this recipe.

Do not try this recipe if you are allergic to peanuts! Also, I am not a food expert or nutritionist. I am just sharing my experimental cooking that came out well. Try at your own risk!

Ingredients required for this Hakka noodles recipe

I am not an expert in measuring every ingredient when I cook experimental recipes. I will share an approximate measurement I used and you can make adjustments for your need.

  • Onion – one small, chopped
  • Tomatoes – 2, chopped
  • Green chilly – 1, chopped
  • Raw Peanut – 1 table spoon
  • Garlic – 3 cloves, chopped
  • Butter – one table spoon ( optional )
  • Oil – 2 table spoon
  • Hakka noodles – one cake
  • Salt- for taste

Steps for cooking Hakka noodles

1. Make Paste/ sauce

Heat 1.5 tbsp oil in a pan ( medium-high heat ). Add peanut and fry till golden brown. Add onions and green chilly and fry till onions turn a little brown. Add tomatoes and fry till soft and mushy.

Turn off the heat and let it cool down. Using a blender/ mixer grind it into a paste.

2. Cook hakka noodles

Cook the noodles according to package instructions and keep them aside.

3. Final step

In a pan heat half tbs of oil and add the chopped garlic and fry for a few seconds. Then add the paste and mix it well. Add butter and salt, and mix it well. Allow it all to cook well and then add a little water. Bring it to a boil. Add cooked noodles and mix them well. Once it’s all heated combined well turn off the heat and the noodle is ready to enjoy.

Hakka noodles

You can add more vegetables like carrots and zucchini after the garlic if you like. (tried this once and it was good)

I have a feeling this recipe will be even better with spaghetti noodles or pasta. I will share my updates on this when I try πŸ˜„
